Asbestos Removal Newcastle ("we", "us", "our") operates this site. We take your privacy seriously and comply with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), regardless of whether a small-business exemption would otherwise apply to us. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, how we use and disclose it, and your rights.

What we collect

When you use this site we may collect:

• Contact details you give us via the quote form: name, phone number, suburb, and whatever you tell us about the job. If you email us we collect your email address and the content of your message.
• Technical information, automatically, through the analytics tools this site uses (see "Cookies and analytics") — pages viewed, device type, approximate location, referral source. This does not identify you personally.

We do not ask for payment details, identity documents, or any of the sensitive information categories the Privacy Act defines. If you volunteer something we did not ask for, we do not use it for anything beyond passing on your enquiry.

Why we collect it

One purpose: to get your job quoted. We are a marketing company, not an asbestos removal business, and the only use we make of your details is getting your job in front of a local business that can quote it.

The consent checkbox on the form is your consent to that transfer. You can decline it, but the form cannot be submitted without it, because passing your details on is the only thing the form does.

Who we pass it to

Your enquiry comes to the marketing business that runs this site. We are not the provider and we do not do the work ourselves. Where a local business is engaged for your area, your enquiry is passed to it so that it can contact you and quote, and we are paid for that connection, never by you. Where none is engaged, your enquiry stays with us and is not passed to anyone else. You can ask us to delete it at any time, and we will.

We do not sell your details for marketing, we do not add you to a mailing list you did not ask to join, and we do not pass them to anyone who is not involved in quoting or doing your job. We may also share de-identified, aggregated technical data with our analytics providers (see "Cookies and analytics") — that is not personal information.

Enquiries

This site currently takes enquiries through the form only — there is no phone number to call. See "Who we pass it to" above for what happens to a form enquiry.

How we store it

Enquiry details are held in a database on Cloudflare's infrastructure, which receives each enquiry from the form and keeps a copy after it has been passed on, with access limited to the people who need it to place your job. Cloudflare runs a global network, and that database is not confined to Australia, so your details may be stored outside Australia. If you called, we also keep the transcript and summary of the call with your enquiry record.

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. The service providers we use maintain their own security standards, which we have considered as part of choosing them.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses Google Analytics and Google Search Console to understand how visitors use the site. These tools use cookies and collect de-identified technical information; they do not identify you personally. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect how the site functions.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are deleted 24 months after our last contact with you, or sooner if you ask us to. You can ask us at any time to delete your details, using the address below, and we will.

Seeing, correcting or deleting your details

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us at privacy@newcastleasbestosremoval.au and we will respond within a reasonable period. There is no charge for asking.

If your details have already gone to a provider, we will tell you who, so you can ask them directly as well.

If something goes wrong

If we become aware of unauthorised access to or loss of your information that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.

Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your information, tell us first at privacy@newcastleasbestosremoval.au and we will look into it. If you are not satisfied with how we respond, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle enquiries, we update this page and change the date at the top. We do not apply a new purpose retrospectively to details collected under the old one.

Who operates this site

Asbestos Removal Newcastle is operated by a marketing company. We are not an asbestos removal business and do not carry out the work.
